About the winemaker
De jonge talenten Charles en Amélie staan aan de wieg van een nieuwe impuls voor de rijke wijnbouw historie van de Elzas. De zuivere en verfijnd expressieve single-varietal wijnen tonen het grenzeloze potentieel van deze historische regio.
Het domein is gevestigd in het dorp Wettolsheim, ten zuiden van Colmar. Hier in het zuidelijke deel van de Elzas bezit de familie ongeveer 30 hectare in zeven dorpen, waaronder vier grand crus. Het merendeel van de wijngaarden wordt al generaties lang door de familie beheerd. Zodra Charles en Amélie het domein volledig in eigendom hadden werd de conversie naar biologische en biodynamische wijnbouw ingezet en vanaf 2019 zijn alle wijngaarden van de familie biologisch en biodynamisch gecertificeerd. De wijnbouw is zo natuurlijk mogelijk. Juist nu de groeiseizoenen steeds warmer worden is het behoud van het natuurlijk evenwicht in de wijngaard essentieel.
