Rudolf Rabl

Rudolf Rabl joined the family business in 1986, which began in 1750. After he moved in, the company quickly grew in size and significant changes were made to the winemaking process. Rudolf started using spontaneous fermentation, long lagering on the lie and giving more attention to the 75 hectares of vineyards. If there is one man who looks at his vineyards with a keen eye, it is Rudolf Rabl. Schenkenbichl, Käferberg, Liss and others are the names of the vineyards from which the various wines originate. In the eyes of Rudolf, an excellent terroir is indispensable for the production of top wines. The vineyards are all rich in urgestein, chalk and loess. A vineyard is not an English garden and a vine is not an ornamental plant. In Rudolf Rabl's view, you shouldn't tame, cut and guide a grape too much. It is after all a bush. He takes the same approach to the vineyard. Let nature take its course and do not intervene too much. The vineyards are arranged in such a way that the wind has free play.
