Terroir sense Fronteres

Tatjana Peceric

Dominik Huber and Tatjana Peceric's project in Montsant is called Terroir sense Fronteres. In 2017 they had the opportunity to acquire several vineyards in this region next to Priorat. Without restrictions, they make a series of stunning wines here in Montsant. They work completely biodynamically with as little sulphite as possible. In everything the terroir is central and the wines are a pure expression of the unique vineyards that this region has. The white wines are made from macabeu and grenache blanc. The red wines are made from Carignan and Grenache Noir. The white wines in particular have a very low alcohol content and are ideal as an accompaniment for the finest dishes. All wines are really made for gastronomy, the wines are light, refined and elegant to match with dishes from the best kitchens. Dominik landed in this part of Spain in 2000 and together with Eben Sadie started their Terroir al Limit. A domain that is now counted among the absolute top from Spain. Wine from Spain

Spain is seen as the sleeping giant in the wine world. It is of course a very large country where many different styles of wine are made in different wine regions from north to south and from east to west. From the sherries of the south, the sparkling wines of the Penedes and the powerful red wines of Rioja and Ribera del Duero.

Spanish red wine

The most important grape variety for Spanish red wine is Tempranillo. A grape variety that has several synonyms in the country is called the grape tinto del païs in Ribera del Duero, tinto fino in the Penedes and cencibel in the La Mancha wine region. But of course there are also other grapes and especially in rapidly emerging wine regions such as Bierzo  where mencia is the main grape, Priorat with grenache and carignan or Valencia with its autochthonous varieties such as monastrell, forcalla, arco and bonicaire. Wine country Spain offers an enormous amount of choice and diversity.

Spanish white wine

In Spain, verdejo is of course an important grape variety for white wines and especially for the white wines from the Rueda wine region. More in the northeast in the wine region of Galicia, where designations of origin such as Rias Baixas, Valdeorras and Monterrei can be found, albarino and godello are the most important grapes. In the east in Priorat, on the other hand, more "French" grape varieties such as grenache blanc and macabeu. So diversity everywhere.

Spanish sparkling wine

In addition to the still wines, Spain is of course known for the sparkling wines made in the northeast of the country around Barcelona. Here in Penedes, xarel.lo, macabeo and parellada form the basis of sparkling wines made with a second fermentation in the bottle. We offer you Lacrima Baccus Cavas, certified organic cavas that are perfect as an aperitif or as an accompaniment to a classic Spanish paella.
