Cape Cru - a tasting of unique wines
The Tierre Merlot is Tua Rita's 'little Redigaffi'. In the nose fruity aromas of blackberries and cherries, with a hint of violets and spices. In the mouth juicy with lots of cherry fruit and something of chocolate, tobacco and hazelnut. The wine is juicy, dark and soft and ends in a nice fruity finale.
Delicious with meat dishes, pasta with hearty sauces and matured cheeses.

| Vineyard | Tua Rita's vineyards are located in Notri, a hamlet just outside of beautiful Suvereto in southern Tuscany. It was here that Rita Tua and her husband once started this illustrious estate. Indeed, they were one of the first to start planting merlot, syrah and cabernet sauvignon. This led to a 100 point score from Robert Parker for the Redigaffi in 2000. The valley in which the vineyards are situated enjoys the cooling sea breeze during the day and the wind from the land at night. It is a rather sandy terroir. |

Grapes from the vineyards of Colline Metallifere around Suvereto. After manual harvesting, traditional vinification in stainless steel barrels and aging in used wooden barrels for 6 months. These barrels have previously been used for Redigaffi, Giusto di Notri and Per Semper syrah.
