Weingut Josef Michel | Germany | Baden |
Vineyard | This wine comes from the Munzinger Kappellenberg is a vineyard with a strong loamy-löss soil, which Josef Michel's grandfather once sold to his sister. Fortunately, Josef has regained possession of the vineyard. This loamy-löss soil is ideal for planting spätburgunder, as evidenced by the more than 40-year-old vines on the vineyard. Together with the Achkarrer Schlossberg, the Kappellenberg is among the most beautiful terroirs in southern Baden. In addition to Löss, it also has a lot of volcanic rock and minerals. |

Vinification | The grapes are pressed after harvest and the must clarifies itself by sedimentation. There is a 10-day skin soaking and the wine ferments at a temperature of 30°C. The wine is bottled in September following the harvest. |
