Chassagne Montrachet 1er Cru la Romanée
Domaine Vincent DancerStriking with La Romanée is the tropical ripe fruit that can always be found. The wine always seems a bit richer and thicker than Tête du Clos. Refined acids offer sufficient counterbalance to the rich touch.

About the winemaker
Vincent Dancer can be counted among the latest generation of hard working top producers in the Côte de Beaune. Born in Alsace, he started his domain in 1996 with vineyards that were in the family. We met Vincent in 2004 and immediately noticed that he is full of passion and only goes for the highest quality. When we speak to him, we are reminded of Gianfranco Soldera. Vincent is humble, passionate and has a great philosophy and vision. Like us, he believes that there is too much monoculture in many wine-growing areas and that there is too much and too often human intervention in nature. His new vineyards high above the village of Pommard show what his vision is. Here there is biodiversity, a vineyard where trees and vines grow in harmony with each other and where work is done entirely organically. Vincent thinks about everything and this is something you notice immediately when you first get to know him. The words modest, passionate, determined and conscientious characterize the person Vincent Dancer.

Details
| Vineyard | This vineyard is perched and protected by a row of trees. Very rich limestone forms the soil, but especially its location gives this vineyard a unique terroir. Vines were planted in 1979 and 1992. |
|---|---|
| Vinification | Classic white wine with aging in barriques. Since the 2019 vintage, only used barrels are used. These come from different tonneliers in order to avoid a signature of the tonnelier. Wine must taste according to the vintage and there is no intervention during the vinification, the fermentation sometimes takes several months. There is no filtering, only minimal sulphite is added before bottling. |
| Oak aging | Yes |
| Ageing potential | 10 years and more after harvest |
| Alcohol percentage | 13.5% |
