About the winemaker
The Château Fonsalette was the latest addition to the Reynaud family's holdings. Located north of Orange, Louis Reynaud acquired the Château in 1945. Here in the municipality of Lagarde-Paréol, the property is planted with grapes such as marsanne, clairette, grenache blanc, cinsault, syrah and grenache noir, as well as grains and olives here.

| Vineyard | The terroir of Château Fonsalette is different from Rayas. Here we find more gravelly rocks and a slightly richer terroir. In total about 10 hectares of land, but certainly not all planted with grapes. |

| Vinification | The Reynaud family's cellars harbor much tradition. The best kept is the fact that Emmanuel Reynaud is averse to the use of new wood and that as little intervention as possible is made during the upbringing. The mostly large barrels are sometimes more than 80 years old and give the wines their unique character. In these barrels, the wines stay for a minimum of 16 months before being bottled. After bottling, the wines often stay in the domain's cellar for years. The wines of Fonsalette are made at Château Rayas. |
