About the winemaker
One of the absolute top domains in Tuscany and maybe even Italy is Tua Rita. Founded in 1984, the family estate in Notri near Suvereto has vineyards planted with merlot, cabernet sauvignon, syrah and of course sangiovese. However, it is the first two grapes mentioned that have brought the estate the fame. Giusto di Notri is a wine that was first made from cabernet and merlot in 1992 and immediately received the recognition befitting the wine internationally. However, when the Redigaffi saw the light of day in 1994, a wine made from merlot only, a cult estate was born. Today it is still a family estate with a limited production of about 110,000 bottles per year, where the quality of the wines is paramount.

Details
| Vineyard | Tua Rita's vineyards are located in Notri, a hamlet just outside of beautiful Suvereto in southern Tuscany. It was here that Rita Tua and her husband once started this illustrious estate. Indeed, they were one of the first to start planting merlot, syrah and cabernet sauvignon. This led to a 100 point score from Robert Parker in 2000 for the Redigaffi 2007. The valley in which the vineyards are located enjoys the cooling sea breeze during the day and the wind from the land at night. |
