Brisat de Montsant 2021

Wine with a light golden colour and in the nose candied citrus fruit and apricot. At the same time, there are herbal notes such as chamomile. Everything comes back in the taste. Nice minerality and even something savoury in the aftertaste.

The winemaker

Winemaker Country Region
Terroir sense Fronteres Spain Montsant
About the winemaker In 2017 Dominik Huber had the opportunity to acquire a number of vineyards in Montsant. This reasonable appellation of origin has a terroir roughly equivalent to Priorat and winemaker Tatjana Peceric makes a series of wines here that are unique to the region and are counted among the best in the region. The all-out approach is biodynamic and the wines excel in refinement and elegance. Born in Serbia, she traveled through Serbia and the world for a long time as a dancer in a group of folk dancers. During those travels she came into contact with wine and decided to pursue an education. After completing it, she went to the oenology school in Montpeller for a master's degree. Already here she was focused on a biodynamic way of working and after harvests in Bordeaux, Canada, New Zealand, Priorat and Switzerland she returned to Priorat to start working at Terroir al Limit.

Details

Vineyard The vineyards are located around Capçanes. The altitudes vary from 350 to 800 meters. The soils are clay-rich, granite-rich, slate-rich or alluvial.
Vinification The harvest for this wine is entirely manual and 12-kilogram boxes are used. The bunches are then put into stainless steel vats whole. After this, the natural yeasts must do their work. This is an unusual vinification for white wine, resulting in a slightly oxidative wine. After fermentation, the wine is pressed and finally stays in stainless steel for another 6 months.
