Chilean wines

Chile is one of the "new world countries" in terms of wine production. It was the Spanish colonists who started viticulture here, but there are also many French influences. Most Chilean wine is made from typically French grapes such as cabernet sauvignon, chardonnay and merlot. In contrast to all other countries in the world, the vines here are still authentic and not on American rootstock. The wine-growing regions run like a snake through the middle of the country between the Andes and the coast. One of the most famous Chilean winemakers is undoubtedly Pablo Morandé, he is the founder of Viña Vistamar. Pablo Morandé is the discoverer of one of Chile's most famous wine regions: the Casablanca Valley. The wines are now made by the talented winemaker Cristián Carrasco. He works with grapes from valleys such as Casablanca Valley, Maipo Valley and Central Valley. Vistamar is fully certified and the wines are made according to the "sustainability code" that has been established for Chilean viticulture.
