Herbert Weiss

Herbert Weis bought the Erben von Beulwitz wine estate in 1982 and incorporated it into his Hotel Weingut Weis. Every effort is made to produce wines of the highest quality every year, including from the 2.5 hectares on the Kaseler Nies'chen. A well-known vineyard in the Moselle with "Steillagen" that go by names like "Im Steingarten", "Im Taubenberg" and "Auf den Mauern". Vineyards classified as Grosses Gewächs according to the Bernkaseler Ring. Quality wine is made in the vineyard, in the opinion of Herbert Weis. The vineyards are cultivated as naturally as possible and for years no herbicides have been used. Sowing and plowing herbs in every second row of vines avoids working with herbicides. In the cellar, both stainless steel and large wooden barrels are used for education. The cellar is located under the family hotel in Mertesdorf. Herbert Weiss

In 1982 Herbert Weis bought the 7.5 hectare Weingut Erben von Beulwitz in the Ruwertal. A wine estate with a long history and good reputation. The winery's Rieslings have enjoyed tremendous reputation and prestige for years. This has not changed since Herbert's arrival. Every year he succeeds in making a beautiful series of wines from dry to noble sweet. Erben von Beulwitz is the only wine estate in the Ruwertal to be a member of the Bernkaseler Ring and thus Herbert has several Grosses Gewächs wines.
