About the winemaker
Domaine Vaquer was founded in 1912 by the great grandfather of Bernard Vaquer, late husband of Fréderique Vaquer. Bernard trained in Dijon, where he met Fréderique. After his training, they returned to the family estate. Since her death in 2001, Fréderique has been the winemaker of the domain. As a Bourguignonne, she makes a style of wines, reminiscent of the red wines from the Côtes de Nuits. Fréderique Vaquer works as naturally as possible in the vineyards, or in other words according to the rules of agriculture raisonnée. So a lot of work in the vineyards, to maintain them in the most natural way possible. Harvesting takes place at the most ripe moment possible and all grapes are destemmed.

Details
| Vineyard | The soil consists of argilo-calcic deposits and the vineyard is located at about 200 meters above sea level. The soil here was formed by the ice age and thus we see many round boulders and rocks in the soil, which were originally in the rivers. |
