About the winemaker
The Domaine Rougeot can be found in the heart of the village of Meursault. Marc Rougeot started the domain in 1975 and slowly built it up to the 13 hectares that the domain has today. The estate is situated at the foot of the Sainte Cristophe hill on the outskirts of the village of Meursault, from the vineyard on the estate you look out onto the vineyards of Monthélie. Pierre-Henri Rougeot has taken over the vinification and vineyard management from his father for several years. He changed a lot, biodynamic approach, little to no addition of sulfite and now certified organic.

Details
| Vineyard | The les Toisières vineyard is located just outside the municipality of Meursault and opposite the red premier cru La Taupine. The vineyard has an exposition facing south and the soil consists mainly of limestone. |
|---|---|
| Vinification | The grapes for this wine are handpicked and alcoholic fermentation takes place in concrete barrels. Marc Rougeot works with large wooden barrels instead of the often used barriques. He prefers demi-muids and then with minimal toasting. Wine should taste like the vintage and terroir, not wood. The vinification for this wine is similar to that of Meursault. The wine spends 15 months in only used wooden barrels. |
