About the winemaker
Winemaker Gutier Seijo has earned his spurs as a winemaker. He is considered one of the pioneers of Galicia and his Mixtura is a project with the old vineyards along the rivers Sil and Miño on the border of Spain and Portugal. The vineyards are located in different regions such as Valdeorras, Bierzo, Ribeira Sacra. Ribeiro and Rias Baixas. All vineyards are worked according to the rules of organic viticulture and the vinification is as natural as possible on concrete eggs and old stockinger barrels. Addition of sulphite is minimal and only during bottling. Mixtura is an ideology rather than a standard wine company. A project in which Gutier can show all his skills as a winemaker with the freedoms of an artist in his studio.

Details
| Vineyard | Made with mencia, caiño, brancellao en sousón from different plots, each exposed to different climates. The caiño, brancellao en sousón comes exclusively from the Ribeiro area, hand-harvested in different vineyards at altitudes between 90 and 200 meters, with soils of sabrego (decomposed granite). Mencia comes from Bierzo. The soils here are also sandy decomposed granite and are influenced by a cool Atlantic climate. |

| Vinification | Hand-harvested. Bunches are selected in the vineyard, with only ideal fruit selected for Mixtura. Fermentation separated for each grape variety in large vats. After the fermantation the wine is blended and then put into oak barriques for 12 months. In barrique malolactic fermentation is done.
