About the winemaker
In the heart of Gigondas vineyards (Rhône Valley), one of the most prestigious southern Côtes du Rhone growths, lies the Domaine de Font-Sane since 1860. The know-how handed down from generation to generation draws the very best from the terroirs, and the marriage of tradition and state-of-the-art techniques.
The Domaine is about 16 hectares (39 acres) divided into Gigondas and Ventoux. From the Domaine itself, you can see protected by the majestic rock faces of the Dentelles de Montmirail, the little village of Gigondas.
Domaine de Font-Sane has opted for a sustainable culture. Fertilization is done every year by adding organic compost. These natural products help maintain the humus levels and promote good exchanges between the soil and the plant, and quality is always preferred over quantity.
In order to better take into account the environment, they are considering conversion to organic farming within the next few years.
