About the winemaker
Founded in 1731, Bouchard Père et Fils is one of the oldest wineries in Burgundy. A winery with a long history and an impressive acreage of vineyards. With 130 hectares of its own vineyards spread over 12 Grand Cru's and 74(!) premier cru's among others, winemaker Frédéric Weber has access to a unique terroir. As of the 2020 vintage, the vineyards are in conversion to organic viticulture and with this, the winery is sending a great signal in the Burgundy wine region. Many vineyards were already farmed organically, but the certification will follow in 2024. Montrachet, Corton-Charlemagne, Chevalier-Montrachet, Beaune Grèves Vignes de l'Enfant Jésus, Bonnes-Mares, Meursault Perrières are some of the prestigious vineyards that belong to the vineyard estate.

Details
| Vineyard | Bouchard Père & Fils is the main landowner on this famous Grand Cru just above Le Montrachet. During the 19th century, the house managed to buy vineyards on the 4 different terroirs of this Grand Cru. The soil is rich in limestone and marl. The total surface of this Grand Cru is 7.59 hectares and Bouchard owns 2.33 hectares. This specific wine comes from a piece of vineyard that previously belonged to the Montrachet appellation. |

| Vinification | The harvest is manual and in 13 kilo crates. There is a soft pressing that takes up to 2 hours. This is followed by fermentation, for 12 to 13 months, in 225 liter oak barrels of which 15% are new. The wines are blended and then remain in stainless steel for 3-4 months. |
