About the winemaker
Domaine Roland Lavantureux is a family-owned winery that grew out of a larger farm. Initially, the vineyards were primarily intended to provide for their own needs. From the 1960s onwards, however, they also began to trade in wine. At that time still unbottled in feuillletes. The typical barrels in Chablis of 132 liters. In 1979 Roland and his wife Brigitte started bottling and the domain grew from 5 to 20 hectares. As of 2010, Roland and Brigitte's sons (David and Arnaud) are in the domain and they have given it a further quality boost. Rarely have we tasted wines that so overwhelmed us. What precision and refinement. Of course, the vineyards with their more than 60 year old vines are important, as is the method of working (organic approach) of the vineyards, but the vinification talents of these brothers lead us to believe that David and Arnaud, will be among the big names of the region in the years to come.
