About the winemaker
Founded in 1731, Bouchard Père et Fils is one of the oldest wineries in Burgundy. A winery with a long history and an impressive acreage of vineyards. With 130 hectares of its own vineyards spread over 12 Grand Cru's and 74(!) premier cru's among others, winemaker Frédéric Weber has access to a unique terroir. As of the 2020 vintage, the vineyards are in conversion to organic viticulture and with this, the winery is sending a great signal in the Burgundy wine region. Many vineyards were already farmed organically, but the certification will follow in 2024. Montrachet, Corton-Charlemagne, Chevalier-Montrachet, Beaune Grèves Vignes de l'Enfant Jésus, Bonnes-Mares, Meursault Perrières are some of the prestigious vineyards that belong to the vineyard estate.

| Vineyard | The appellation Beaune du Chateau is an exclusivity of the winery and has been made since 1907. There are 4 vineyards selected for this wine, namely: Aigrots, Tuvilains, Sizies and Sur les Grèves. The vineyards have soils rich in limestone, marl and clay. The vineyards have a southeast exposure and a total of 9.92 hectares are in production. |

| Vinification | After a manual harvest in 13-kilogram crates, there is a gentle controlled pressing that takes about 2 hours. The upbringing is in 225-liter oak barrels, of which about 15% are new. The wine stays in oak for 9-10 months, depending on the vintage. The wines from the different parcels are vinified separately and blended after ageing in oak. After blending the barrels, the wine stays in stainless steel for 2-3 months. |
