About the winemaker
Founded in 1731, Bouchard Père et Fils is one of the oldest wineries in Burgundy. A winery with a long history and an impressive acreage of vineyards. With 130 hectares of its own vineyards spread over 12 Grand Cru's and 74(!) premier cru's among others, winemaker Frédéric Weber has access to a unique terroir. As of the 2020 vintage, the vineyards are in conversion to organic viticulture and with this, the winery is sending a great signal in the Burgundy wine region. Many vineyards were already farmed organically, but the certification will follow in 2024. Montrachet, Corton-Charlemagne, Chevalier-Montrachet, Beaune Grèves Vignes de l'Enfant Jésus, Bonnes-Mares, Meursault Perrières are some of the prestigious vineyards that belong to the vineyard estate.

Details
| Vineyard | The vineyard of this wine has a long history dating back to 1220. The Bouchard family purchased the vineyard in the 19th century and it has been a monopole ever since. In total, the vineyard is 3.36 hectares and the soil consists mainly of limestone and clay. |

| Vinification | After a manual harvest in 13-kilogram crates, a manual selection follows. The grapes are completely or partially destemmed depending on the vintage. Fermentation takes about 15-20 days. The wine is matured in 225-litre oak barrels, of which 30-40% are new. The wine stays 12-14 months in oak, depending on the vintage. |
