A Bruxa 2023
Veronica OrtegaThis is the first vintage of this cuvée, sourced from a very old 0.46-hectare vineyard in Cobrana. A wine with distinct elegance and detailed balance, a perfumed and complex nose with red fruit, floral notes, and minerality. Juicy liveliness on the palate with deep red fruit, spice, a crystal-clear, slender structure with fine tannins and exceptional tension.

About the winemaker
Veronica Ortega is considered the future queen of Spanish viticulture. She was born in Cadiz in the Sherry region. Veronica first worked in wine in Priorat with Alvaro Palacios, then in New Zealand and Burgundy. In Bourgogne even at the mythical Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, before settling in Bierzo. Here she worked from 2010 to 2014 at Raul Perez, another great winemaker. From 2014, however, Veronica has her own cellar and her star is rising. The Bierzo region in northwestern Spain is known for its red wines from the mencia grape. This is also the grape that Veronica excels with. All her grapes are organically grown and hand-picked.
